There has been a lot of hype surrounding Tottenham transfers in the winter window, especially as Mauricio Pochettino largely kept his gun powder dry in the summer.
But it appears that the next transfer for the club is as likely to be a sale as a purchase. The Daily Mail has reported that Juventus are keen and leads the race for a player who really has been a damp squib at Tottenham:
Juventus lead race to sign Tottenham’s Paulinho, as Serie A champions also chase Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic
Due to poor form and injury Paulinho has only played 30 league games for Tottenham since joining the club 18 months ago. He has a decent goal return of 6 goals in that time. But he has never really looked happy at the club – from his tearful farewell to the fans when he left Corinthinas to his less than buoyant demeanour on the pitch at White Hart Lane.
He’s got decent technique but looks one-paced and has rarely imposed himself on the midfield as the club hoped he would when he signed. So it appears that the search for a dominating central midfielder continues and Tottenham could soon bid farewell to the Brazilian. We think that this one just hasn;t worked out and a move would be best fro all parties.
Tottenham fans: does Paulinho need more time to settle or should you get rid ASAP?
