It’s been such a long time since everybody in the Manchester United squad was fit that we have almost forgotten how many good players there are at the club.
It seems that the more injuries you get the more strain is put on the remaining members of the squad and therefore the injuries just keep mounting up. So, with the news today that Manchester United now only have the solitary injury to Ashley Young, there’s a great chance of the majority of the squad remaining healthy for the rest of the season.
This picture, courtesy of The Daily Mail, shows the squad healthy and particularly happy looking – perhaps in the knowledge that they really do have a chance of fighting for the title this season now that virtually everyone is back.
Of course the main target, after an horrendous season last time out, is to get back into The Champions League. Manchester United face fourth-placed Southampton on Sunday with The Saints just one point behind The Red Devils in the league table. Then come a recently rejuvenated and dangerous Tottenham, three points behind Manchester United, with Arsenal another point further back.
Three draws in the last four games has cut Manchester United’s lead – which looked comfortable a few weeks ago. But they will hope that with some decent looking fixtures ahead (QPR, Leicester, West Ham, Burnley) they can start another winning run this weekend.
