Deal On? Tottenham offered sensation – report

Tottenham were marvellous against Chelsea but noone will be getting carried away after a patchy season and, despite the amazing form of Harry Kane, Spurs still need another striker in our opinion.

With Roberto Soldado looking as if his future may lie elsewhere and Emmanuel Adebayor on the wane Tottenham would do well to bring in another marksman in January.

Pace is an ever more valuable commodity in The Premier League and sulky boy Said Berahino has bags of it. But he has many other qualities too and has surprised and impressed us in equal measure this season with some super finishing to go with that remarkable acceleration.

Latest reports suggest that Tottenham have been offered sulky boy as part of a swap. The Mirror states:

Spurs offered Saido Berahino, with West Brom keen on Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon in exchange

Berahino looks as if he could be a really useful player for Tottenham if he continues on this trajectory. But we have never seen a player look so miserable to score four times in one game – as Berahino did at the weekend in the cup – and the player’s temperament could be the main worry for Spurs.

It’s a big IF. But what if an even bigger club comes calling for him a few years? Will the sulk return if Spurs wan tot keep him? Noone wants to see such a lucky lad chucking tantrums.

We wouldn’t be too concerned about letting Aaron Lennon leave the club but, with youth on his side and a recent improvement in form, Townsend may be a more difficult one to let go.

Let’s take a look at Berahino in action. Tottenham fans: good enough to improve the starting eleven?
