Potential

Midfielders seem to be the order of the the day according to the tabloids and one has suggested that Tottenham are on the verge of signing one on loan for the rest of the season.

The Metro reports:

Tottenham Hotspur ‘on verge of sealing six-month loan transfer for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot’

This is a player of amazing potential. At just 19 he’s already expecting a place in the first team at a club with seemingly limitless funds. He made his debut for the France U21 side last year and has played 40 odd times for his club.

But there has been constant speculation about his departure despite his being well thought of at the club. If Tottenham do sign him they will be adding another really impressive string to their bow. Rabiot is a technically gifted pass master who’s more of an anchorman than a goalscoring midfielder – he’s scored 4 goals in his fledgling career.

The performances of Dembele and Bentaleb against Chelsea reminded us that there is real depth in the Tottenham engine room already. But Mauricio Pochettino will want to stamp his own mark on the squad and we think that Rabiot is a very interesting option.

Let’s see him in action. Tottenham fans: experienced enough to make an impression?

Although this guy may be a fantastic prospect we are in need of CLASS strikers and central defenders not midfielders.

Why is everyone getting excited over the signing of a loanee. Why should we give gametime to a rivals player. Either sign him permanently or bring back Carroll or Velcro from Middlesborough and give them game time.
