Manchester United have reportedly made their first move in the transfer window this January by agreeing a deal for the accomplised ex-Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes.
The deal is said to be for 18 months, according to The Daily Mail
Manchester United have agreed an 18-month contract with former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
Manchester United haven’t made an official announcement yet but the deal will come as little surprise to Manchester United fans who have seen the Spaniard training at Carrington over the last couple of months.
Valdes was let go by Barca after a serious knee injury and has taken a long time to find full fitness. But now that he appears close to that Manchester United appear to have taken the plunge on a player who has won the lot.
At 32 there is obviously still sad in the pencil of Valdes and if he can get back to his best he might even challenge David De Gea for the number one spot at Manchester United.
United fans will hope however, that this is not a prelude to the departure of the magnificent Deg Gea who has oft been linked with a return to Spain.
More likely, in the short term, it will allow Ben Amos or Anders Lindegaard to leave the club in search of first team action. Sam Johnstone, who is arguably the most promising of United’s reserve keepers, is currently out on loan.
Let’s see Valdes in action. Manchester United fans: good deal?
