In truth, we never knew if this one was actually ON in the first place. We do have it from reliable sources that Manchester United were prepared to pay more than Real Madrid for Gareth Bale when he moved to Spain in 2013.
But, since then, all the speculation has been based on nothing more than the odd refusal by Louis Van Gaal to talk about the player.
And reports in The Express state that Bale is likely to extend his contract at Real Madrid after a decent 18 months in Spain.
GARETH BALE is set to crush Chelsea and Manchester United’s hopes of signing him this summer by penning a new and improved contract with Real Madrid.
In truth the situation can change quickly. If Bale’s form drops off for a couple of months Manchester United could well have a chance of signing him in the summer – especially if the sensational Marco Reus moves to Real Madrid.
Bale would undoubtedly be a success at Manchester United. But would the club not be better to sign a right footed winger instead of another lefty, if they did spend big bucks? Bale usually plays on the right for Real Madrid and loves to cut in. Meanwhile, many believe that Angel di Maria is best positioned in the centre onf the park rather out wide on the left flank.
But we believe that, in an ideal world, Manchester United would bring in a right footer with blistering pace to balance the side properly.
That said, few Manchester United supporters would turn their noses up if they had the chance it bring the Welshman to the club in his pomp. We think that he’s better suited to England than Spain and he’ll return in the next couple of years.

GARETH BALE – For God’s sake, FORGET Bale. He is too costly and if U UTD do things better, with the same price UTD will secure 4 (four) star players like:
NICOLAS GAITAN
SEAMUS COLEMAN
RAPHAEL VARANE
ILKAT GUNDOGAN
and then UTD will see the team finishing surely in top four.
