Shocker: England coach picks 22 year old Chelsea star as his choice for player of the season so far

What!

Many to most would probably argue that it’s a straight race between Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas for the best Premier League player of the season so far. But not so England coach Gary Neville who reckons that a less heralded star has been the stand out performer.

He told The Telegraph:

Courtois has the talent to become the best goalkeeper in the world in the next 12 to 18 months. I believe he will go past Neuer. The player of the season so far, for me, is not Sergio Agüero but Chelsea’s new No1, who has brought a smile to my face. And not many goalkeepers make me smile.

Neville goes on to say that the positioning of the youngster, twinned with his ability to command the area and hold onto crosses makes him a cut above.

Jose Mourinho really has done some incredible business in the summer. Courtois had been out on loan but Mourinho still picked him ahead of Cech when he arrived back at the club this summer. He put his faith in youngster ahead of an established superstar. That must have put great pressure on Courtois’ shoulders but he has responded magnificently.

You can easily imagine him being at Stamford Bridge for the next decade and scaling similar heights to his predecessor as one of Chelsea’s true greats.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Chelsea fans: better than Cech?

Hazard is good, Costa is great, Fabrigas is greater But for me Aziplicuata is the greatest and the best player in Chelsea. Faultless, fearless, win tackles, track and make good clearance.

    Kind regards

Namanja Matic is a very good solid defensive midfielder. we have him and Remires. Just Sale Mikel and invest the money on Kramaric. This Croatia guy is No.2 Of C. Rolnado. Because D. Drogba will hang his boot soon. so that we know that after Drogba Retirement will still have a clinical Finisher in Kramaric.

If he’s good enough to keep Cech out of the side, and good enough to hold his own against the best in the premiership then Nev has a point.

He’s certainly on a par with De Gea for being the Prems best keeper so far this season

courtois is brilliant, and does not make eras howly like cech because cech comes when he’s ready in mostly big games but tends to relux in small games, and thats why we lost to teams like sunderland and so on last season.

i think our current keeper is superb and rarely makes mistakes i never liked the way csech would always fire the ball almost to the other keeper and thus make us loose the ball courtois will always throw at a close range and players can start outright passes kudos courtois
