With so many injuries, and so much uncertainty surrounding who is fit and who’s injured, Manchester United are in a serious spot of bother. Thankfully, while their defence and midfield has been crippled, they have been able to call on most of their attacking stars most of the time.
A notable exclusion form that list is Radamel Falcao. At 28 he’s perhaps the best of the lot at Manchester United but he still hasn’t been able to find full fitness after his serious knee injury, sustained in January.
The good news is that his current problem seems unrelated. But, while some Manchester United fans were hopeful of him getting on the bench on Saturday, his on going calf problem will keep him out for a while yet.
But he remains positive about the allegations that he is still suffering with the knee. The BBC reports:
Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has dismissed questions over his long-term fitness but is still two weeks from a first-team comeback.
“I feel well and I hope to come back to the pitch soon,” said Falcao, who missed his side’s World Cup campaign because of his knee injury.
“It is disappointing that I can’t play, but I have to be calm and recover because that is important to help the team when I return to the games.”
It’s been a horrible start for a lad who clearly loves playing the game. He’s a force of nature and we sincerely hope that he gets fit soon because a talent this sensational needs to be on the park for the good of football.
