The former Manchester United star was apparently involved in an altercation with a fan outside Ireland’s team hotel.

Roy Keane was at the centre of a police investigation after a man was allegedly assaulted outside the team’s hotel 48 hours before Ireland’s crunch game with Scotland.
The Mail has learned that the assistant Ireland manager was allegedly caught up in an incident which saw an individual attacked outside the luxury Links Hotel in Portmarnock after team training.
The same source says that there was a quick conversation between Keano and the man early in the evening which quickly escalated into a scuffle which left the fan on the ground.
