Tottenham are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Southampton scout Paul Mitchell.
Regarded as one of the best talent spotters in the game Tottenham will hope that he can affect the fortunes of the club over the next few windows, after a very hit and miss period of transfer activity at the club.
The Telegraph reckons that Spurs are close to bringing Mitchell on board.
Mauricio Pochettino is poised to be handed a major boost in his attempts to turn around Tottenham Hotspur with the appointment of Southampton star-spotter Paul Mitchell.
While there have been some brilliant additions to the squad over the last few of years – notably Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Hugo Lloris – there have been far too many average signings to take Tottenham to the next level of regular Champions League football.
Meanwhile Southampton have signed crackers time and again. They received more money than any other club in Europe in player sales over the summer but have, improbably, come back even stronger this season with the likes of Pelle, Tadic and Wanyama.
The report also states that, despite the recent run of bad results, Mauricio Pochettino’s short term future at the club is assured.
