Hardly a day passes right now when the media doesn’t search for a new striker on behalf of Tottenham.

Without any real evidence that Tottenham will invest in January parts of the media are making a pretty fair assumption that, based on the current quality of the Spurs front line, they will need to buy ASAP.

The latest name on the radar is Fiorentina striker Ante Rebic.

The 21 year old has made great headway over the last year, making his debut for Croatia in 2013 and turning out 8 times for them since – scoring one goal. Despite his age he’s already a powerful 6ft 1in lad who doesn’t look as if he’d struggle physically in the rough and tumble of The Premier League.

He made his name at RNK Split where he bagged 19 goals in 61 appearances as a teenager before moving to Fiorentina for an undisclosed sum on 28th August 2013. He’s only played 4 times for the Italian outfit since he joined, scoring once. This lack of game time meant that a loan move was deemed best for all parties and he’s currently with RB Leipzig on a year long deal.

He seems quite raw and but his 8 caps for Croatia suggest that he has already turned some of that potential into reality.

While he certainly wouldn’t represent an immediate answer for Tottenham, he may turn out to be a quality acquisition in the longer term.

Let’s see some of his highlights. Tottenham fans: keen?
