Manchester United managed to squeeze the sensational Falcao into their summer business right at the end of the window. And they did an even later deal for Tom Cleverley to go to Aston Villa – hopefully that one will become permanent.
But today we hear that another move has taken place this September. It doesn’t break any rules because the player was effectively out of contract after being released by Manchester United.
Nevertheless it will be sad news for some to hear that 22 year old midfielder Davide Petrucci has signed for Romanian side Cluj after Manchester United let him go.
ManUtd.com reports:
Davide Petrucci has signed for Romanian club CFR 1907 Cluj on a permanent deal after being released from his contract with Manchester United by mutual consent.
Petrucci was a name that set tongues wagging at United. Signed from Roma as a 16 year old he gave some sensational cameos in the youth and reserve teams at United. Many envisaged that he would become a celebrated graduate of the Manchester United finishing school.
But he got some serious injuries and this really stunted his development.
At 22, and with no first team action in sight, he’s outgrown the reserve side and will look to get his career back on track in Romania.
