Tottenham Transfers: Ideal XI vs West Ham

mzl.suqshnco

Crazy team

You get the sense that, while Tottenham have done some good business in the market already, that the lion’s share of the transfer spend is yet to be done.

Reports over the last week have suggested that various high-priced acquisitions can still come on board before the end of the window. Having only brought defenders to the club so far, you would imagine Tottenham will look at other areas of their team, as well as trying to pursue a deal for Mateo Masacchio.

Southampton seem to be digging their heels in with regards to further sales and that may mean Tottenham turn their attention elsewhere in the search for a striker. But with Morgan Schneiderlin seemingly keen to move we still think that Spurs could bring him in. He recently suggested that he wasn’t mentally ready to play for Southampton at present. This usually means a transfer isn’t far away.

We would love to see Tottenham sign Memphis Depay because he’s a genuinely exciting player. And they will also need to bring in another striker. Wilfried Bony is a wonderful footballer and not only incredibly nimble but also built like a tank – he’s perfect for The Premier League and his goal scoring record in England proves that.

So, if Tottenham do the business that we hope they do, here’s how they could line up, for that first game of the season or, at worst, by the end of the window.

Lloris, Davies, Musacchio, Vertonghen, Walker – Scneiderlin, Sandro – Depay, Eriksen, Lennon – Bony

Also Dembele is unlikely to start having missed pre season, Rose is currently ahead of Davies and Lamela will be given a few games to show what he can do!

Mate ur a bit clueless! Yedlin won’t join till the end of the mls if we do get him. It would be capoue to accompany Scneiderlin. Depays unproven in pl and is similar to townsend. And uve left lamela out??? Are u sure ur a yid? And have u not been watching preseason???

Typical, look good on paper team.
Hardly any of them have had a pre-season.

    Lloris

    Naughton…bless him
    Kaboul
    Verts
Rose…Just in front of Davies, for now

    Holtby
    Sandro/or Capoue

    Lamella
    Ericksen
    Lennon

    Adebayor

    More likely

You would start the season with 2 players that have never played in the premiership, 2 that have never played or trained with the team and 2 that have played no pre season with the new managers style (dembele vertonghen) and walker who has missed more than he played in pre season and lastly a left back that’s just joined. Your playing championship manager right not really predicting the possible line up.
Of course you would expect vertonghen to start and probably Davies, walker may be risked but the others !!!!!!!

If we are looking at ideal line-up with regard to the players cited in the media (not that it’s anything to take at face value) then I would welcome this:

    Lloris

    Walker
    Vertonghen
    Massacio
    Davies

    Capoue
    Schneiderlin
    Lamela
    Ericksen
    Deepay

    Bony

Poch wants a 25 man squad so to shape that I would look at these reserves:

    Subs/Reserves:
    Vorm
    Rose
    Dier
    Dawson
    Chiriches
    Paulihno
    Sandro
    Dembele
    Lennon
    Ade
    Soldado
    Kane
    Bentaleb
    Holtby
    Chadli

I’d be loaning out Carrol, Mason, Ceballos for experience and Yedlin obviously if he came on board too. This would trim the squad.

I would be looking to sell BAE, Naughton, Townsend and Kaboul. If there was an option of including Townsend or Chadli in any deal for any other player I would look at that too.

Paulinho for me gets one more season as does Soldado unless big money came in for both. Neither fill me with confidence nor does Chadli but with the absence of wingers in the team I think he may have to stop due to cover.

Biggest issue we have is getting the ball forward enough. We need a Schniederlin to win the ball and distribute quickly. Paulinho and Dembele are too slow in their build up play meaning teams get behind the ball quickly and stiffle us.

Holtby has the vision and eye for a killer pass to help us with quicker transition from defence to attack, he also has the work rate and the tenacity that suits Poch’s style. My only problem with Holtby is he’s passing can be erratic and sometimes rushe’s the killer ball. Think he’ll start against the Hammers.

My likely line up (with pre season and fitness in mind)

      Lloris
      Naughton (unfortunately)
      Kaboul (capt)
      Jan
      Davies

      Capoue
      Holtby

      Lamela
      Ericksen
      Lennon/Townsend (tough decision)

      Ade

I think Sandro and Walker should start but don’t think there sharp enough.

Hopefully Soldado will be sold/loaned to make room for Bony, if Schneiderlin is signed then it will be a typical last minute Levy signing.

Even if we sign these player’s realistically 6th is the highest we’re likely to finish due to Man Utd having no European football to play and the strength of the other team’s around us. Winning the Europa would give us CL next season and some much needed silverware, that would surely represent a successful season.

Mate, that team only looks good on paper, but I don’t think that how spurs starting XI will look even after closing of transfer window.
As Pochettino would like to trim squad to 25 players, here’s how it would look like to me at the 1st game (and in brackets on 2nd Sept):

    Lloris
    Naughton(Walker)/ Kaboul(Musacchio)/ Vertonghen / Rose(Davies)
    Capoue/ Holtby(Bentaleb)
    Lamela/ Eriksen/ Lennon
    Soldado(Bony)

    Reserves:
    Vorm/ Friedel
    Naughton/ Kaboul/ Dier/ Dawson/ Rose
    Holtby/ Mason/ Townsend/ Paulinho/ Depay
    Soldado/ Kane

      Where’s Ade and Sandro?????

Surely your not in favour of selling these two?

If Bony would arrive, I’m not in favour of having two similar players ( him and Ade) at the same time; plus, wage bill would be reduced.
Despite my respect for Sandro ( though his comments from last season bit shaken it), he’s been erratic and yesterday has been slowing down game unnecessarily. As harsh as it sounds, the only instance that I would keep him is if Mason would be loaned out ( though I liked the look of him in preseason) or Paulinho sold first.
