Real Madrid in talks to sign goal machine – report

After the bizarre goings-on with Luis Suarez in The World Cup over the last couple of days it would be easy to imagine that Real Madrid have thought again about trying to sign him this summer.

He is without doubt one of the best players in the world but is also a loose cannon. If you are going to pay around £85 million for a player then you want somebody who is going to be available on a consistent basis.

Reports in The Daily Mail have suggested that Real Madrid have turned their attention to Colombia striker Radamel Falcao instead.

Real Madrid have opened talks with Monaco over a deal for Radamel Falcao.

The Colombia striker, a firm favourite of Real president Florentino Perez, was a talismanic figure at cross-city rivals Atletico prior to his move to Monaco last summer.

After such a long and serious injury Falcao represents a high-priced gamble. But if he can return to his previous form, as is expected, then Real Madrid could be getting a player who is almost as good, or even as good as Suarez.

There have been persistent rumours that the player is unhappy at Monaco, even though he’s only been there for a year, after a huge move from Athletico Madrid in 2013.

If he is available then you would imagine that Real Madrid won’t be the only suitors for a signature. But as we have seen before, few can match their budget or appeal in the world game.

Have a look at the lad in action. Real Madrid fans: would this be just as good as signing Suarez?
