Real Madrid now favourites to sign one of Europe’s best

Exceptional talent

It seems that Real Madrid target one top forward each summer and concentrate their transfer kitty on bringing in someone who can score even more goals for the club.

But there has also been speculation over the last few weeks about the potential need for Real Madrid to buy a central midfielder. With Xabi Alonso looking slow at The World Cup and Sami Khedira linked with a move away, Real Madrid might look to add some mobility to a squad which includes the great creative potential of Isco but perhaps needs a new midfield general.

And it’s hard to think of a player who would do this better than Bayern Munchen midfielder Toni Kroos.

Still just 24, he has at least six years left at the very top. So, while this would be an expensive investment, it would also be for the long-term.

The player himself has yet to agree terms on a new deal and the feeling is that he could still leave the club this summer.

Manchester United have also been strongly linked with the player but their interest has seemingly cooled with the arrival of new boss Louis van Gaal. Real Madrid are now favourites with English bookmakers Skybet to sign the player if he does leave Munchen in the summer.

At odds of 8/11 Real Madrid are now clear favourites for Kroos’s signature before the September transfer deadline.

Kroos is a brilliant all-round footballer who can fulfil many functions in the midfield. He can sit in front of the defence as a holding player, go box to box, or even play number 10 behind a striker.

It’s hard to know which his best position is because he is so good in every one of them – a master of all trades, if you like.

Let’s have a look at the lad in action. Real Madrid fans: would this be the ideal player for the midfield?
