Manchester United’s first major summer signing? Bid reported

Cavani scores for fun wherever he plays. Despite starting well in France, there are rumours that he too could be heading for England, with Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly among his suiters

Worldie Alert

You could spend hours debating Manchester United’s transfer priorities for this summer.

But we imagine that most of the debate would centre around defenders, midfielders and wide men.

But a sensational report today suggests that Manchester United may look to buy Edinson Cavani this summer for around £56 million from Paris St. Germain.

It’s not the first time that Cavani has been linked to Manchester United but the story resurfaces in The Express today – they think that a megabucks move could be on.

..reports surfacing on the continent indicate United are readying a £56m bid to prise Cavani from the Ligue 1 giants.

Meanwhile The Metro says that a bid has already been lodged.

Manchester United hope to tempt Edinson Cavani to Old Trafford after making a £56million bid for the Paris Saint Germain striker.

Manchester United’s attack is probably the best part of their entire squad. With Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney still in their prime you would imagine that the centre forward areas are pretty much covered for now.

But depending on the formation that Louis van Gaal decides to play – he’s known to like a 4-3-3 – Manchester United may well look for another striker with more pace than the current batch have to offer. He might then deploy Cavani and Rooney either side of RvP. But LvG also likes to use proper wingers in such a formation.

But Cavani certainly has lots of pace. He’s a dynamic and explosive player who likes to receive the ball and head straight towards the goal.

He has has a direct approach and can score goals from any angle or distance. And if Manchester United do have cash to burn this summer then he would obviously be a fine addition. But not unless other positions are filled first or aswell.

But soccersweep thinks that Manchester United will be on the lookout for wingers more than centre forwards as the quality of their wide men has really decreased over the last few years.

That said, if Manchester United do go for Cavani very few fans will be complaining.

Let’s see him in action. CLICK FOR CAVANI

Man united, what are u do with cavani?I think Man united does have problems with cavani. Because Rooney, Rvp, Henendez all of them i think there are okey.
what he can do those player can do better then him remember last year during sir, alex faguson what Rvp did during his firt tenure at united very swell
So united does need any striker the only thing that united likely in the squad is great midfield & centreback & talented winger ,so the club will be regains from the devacable
