Manchester United will surely buy a centre back with lots of experience this summer to replace the outgoing titans that went by the names of Vidic and Ferdinand.
And it appears that the future of Atletico Madrid’s centre back Miranda will be resolved over the next couple of weeks.
Manchester United were said by some to have all but done a deal for the player couple of weeks ago but it turned out to be yet another red herring in what’s turning out to be a rather transfer front so far this summer.
But the deal may well still happen and the player himself has suggested that his agent will be speaking to interested clubs over the next few days. The Daily Mail reports:
‘I have received several offers and we are negotiating,’ Miranda told Radio ESPN.
‘I have offers from the Spanish and English leagues, and other competitions. My agent is currently in Europe, resolving my future. My buy-out clause with Atletico Madrid is 30m, but that is negotiable.’
At 29 the player is clearly looking for a big career move to end his playing days.
There appear to be no lack of suitors for the defender who only just failed to get into the final 23 for the Brazil World Cup squad this summer.
He’s big, mobile and, as you’d expect of a Brazilian, is great on the ground. He’s a super player but we have reservations about buying one so old for so much cash.
But let’s have a brief look at him in action. Manchester United fans: would Miranda be your number one choice as a centre back arrival this summer or would rather go for Mats Hummels or any Eliaquim Mangala?
