It’s one of the big questions for the next twelve months. Who will replace Patrice Evra at Manchester United?
Many fans hope that the player will stay on beyond this season. Evra may have been caught out defensively more times than he would like for Manchester United this season. But we think that, whoever comes in to the club as a replacement, Evra should be there for a hand over season – to impart his vast wealth of knowledge to the new look defence.
The hype surrounding Luke Shaw has been intense. A boyhood Chelsea fan, Shaw is still seen as a possibility for Manchester United but he won’t be easy to acquire.
One alternative that has been mooted over the last 24 hours is Sporting Lisbon defender Marco Rojos. The 23 year old has played 19 times for Argentina since making his debut for the international side in 2011.
The Daily Mail says of Manchester United’s interest:
United have also been monitoring Sporting’s left-sided defender Marcos Rojo. The 23-year-old, who is very good on the ball and plays at left-back for Argentina, was the subject of a failed bid by Fulham in the last window.
Shaw would obviously be the first choice of most but this guy could become on elf the leading left-backs in the world over the next few months. He’s quick, sharp on the ball and likes to get forward – three traits which would go down well at Manchester United.
Let’s take a look at the Sporting Lisbon lad in action.
