Mata ‘Misses Chelsea Training’ as Manchester United deal talk intensifies
Manchester United look to be closing in on a deal for Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata. Many sources are reporting that the deal could be done by the end of the week. The move for Mata is set to break Manchester United’s transfer record.
The Daily Mail has reported that Mata was conspicuous by his absence from Chelsea’s training ground as the team went through its paces earlier today.
Mata’s representatives have flown in on Wednesday to talk to United about the move and the 25-year-old is convinced he will have a medical before the weekend.
With no injury reported to Mata many now assume that a deal is being negotiated and is likely to be finalised sooner rather than later.
Manchester United are desperate to add a top player to their ailing team and Mata looks ever more like the man for the job. An adaptable and classy footballer who also scores loads of goals, he’s in need of a run in the first team, with 6 months to go until The World Cup.
We think that he will fit in perfectly at Manchester United, be it from a wider or central position. United’s ball play has been sluggish and inaccurate this season and they aren’t getting the ball forward incisively from midfield. Mata is a sensational solution to these problems.
We really hope that David Moyes plays Mata in central midfield. Forget number 10. This guy will provide the ammo for RvP and Rooney, while controlling the tempo of the game from the centre of the park.
Manchester United fans – if it happens, is this the dream signing?
