After his whistle stop tour of Italy at the weekend David Moyes wasted no time taking in another big football nation last night. The Manchester United manager was in Paris to watch the new money of PSG take on Bordeaux in the quarter finals of the cup.
Manchester United are desperately in need of midfielders but quite who Moyes was scouting last night is not completely clear. We think that he may have been running the rule over these two talents in particular.
Javier Pastore – Signed for PSG in 2011 for silly money. He had a supreme first season scoring 16 times in 43 games from an advance midfield role. He has fallen down the pecking rider since then and rumour has it he is available. By all accounts he gave a match-winning performance last night, scoring a goal in the process. Manchester United could surely use this guy.
Lucas Moura – He also played last night and has also suffered a bit since joining PSG. He started brightly but injury postponed his development and he’s found it difficult to nail down a place since. He’s still played a creditable 22 times fro PSG this season but he hasn’t yet become the world star that many thought he might when Manchester United were vying for his signature last summer. Another one who may be available would be a sensational addition to Manchester United’s wide areas.
Let’s remind ourselves of the quality of Lucas Moura. Manchester United fans would these two add the requisite quality to the side in January or should Moyes be looking elsewhere?
