Manchester United: Midfielder in talks over £5.6m deal – report

Manchester United are frantically attempting to add some quality in the winter window. But the first business that they do could be to sell players.

Nani’s future is in doubt and he could well leave before February. And Anderosn looks even closer to the exit door with reports that he is in talks with Fiorentina over a £5.6m deal. The Daily Mail reports this afternoon:

Anderson remains in talks with Fiorentina with the sticking point believed to be the paperwork and structure of payments over a £5.6m fee that will follow an initial loan.

The initial loan bit doesn’t sound ideal for Manchester United. If Anderson has a stinker in Italy then can they still send him back to United in the summer? We aren’t saying that would necessarily be a curse – the Brazilian has put in some terrific performances for Manchester United over the years but he just hasn’t managed to gain consistency in that time – but if a permanent deal isn’t done his value could further fall by the summer.

Still, we think that a move to Italy would suit Anderson. Even though he’s an all-action type of player he seems to struggle to complete 90 minutes on a regular basis due to the pace of The Premier league. In Italy he will have that much more time on the ball to impress with his passing game – which can be very good indeed.

If Anderson does leave Old Trafford Manchester United fans will largely wish him all the best. He is a charismatic player who gained a lot of fans whilst at the club.

Let’s see the lad at his best for Manchester United. United fans, is David Moyes making a mistake to get rid of a midfielder when the engine room looks so bare at present?
