Most teams’ needs this winter are pretty clear. In West Ham’s case greater numbers are needed in the final third of the pitch.
Far too much weight has been placed on the broad shoulders of the injured Andy Carroll. We heard that he was due back in September but still the problem persists at the turn of the year.
If West Ham are going to stay clear of the relegation zone they will need some more quality up top. Shed loads of strikers have been linked to the club – perhaps because veteran boss Sam Allardyce has made so many contacts over the years.
But one name which has recently surfaced, in relation to West Ham, is Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor. Now AVB has been sacked there may well be a place at Tottenham for the striker. But he certainly won’t want to spend any more time on the bench. If that seems likely with the next coach then he will surely want a move.
SkyBet have West ham as clear favourites to pull off a real coup and sign Adebayor in January. At odds of 3/1 SkyBet seem pretty confident that he will end up at West Ham come February.
We think that the player nicknamed ‘Baby Kanu’ would be a super addition to the squad. He’s scored goals wherever he has been and, at 29, he should be at his peak. He probably hasn’t been given a fair run at Tottenham.
Let’s see the lad in action. West Ham fans, would you be happy if Adebayor came in in January?
