Never mind buying more defensive midfielders, as has been mooted by several reports over recent weeks. Manchester United have plenty of players to shield the back four -Jones, Carrick and Fellaini to name three.

Manchester United are desperate for more solidity. What the team needs most is a creative midfielder and a top winger.

David Moyes tried for Cesc in the summer to no avail. He would have been the perfect buy but it’s unlikely to happen now. Ander Herrera looks like a good player but we think that the signing is risky. With one big money signing sitting on the bench at United David Moyes can’t afford to be wasteful with more of the transfer kitty.

Reus and Gundogan would be brilliant buys but very difficult to prise from a team that remains in The Champions League. And, while Ross Barkley would be the best possible bit of business for Manchester United in January, Everton will be in no mood to let go of their best player.

So it’s all about available talent this January. The Guardian has suggests that a winger and attacking midfielder of real quality could be available from PSG – namely Javier Pastore and Lucas Moura.

We all know the lengths that Sir Alex went to to sign Brazilian winger Moura last summer. In the Moura plumped for PSG but hasn’t had the consistent impact that he or the club would have liked. But still only 21, he’s already played 31 times for Brazil, scoring 4 goals. He’s quick, exciting and mercurial. Moyes should definitely make a move.

As for Pastore, he started well at PSG, scoring 16 in 43 for the club, in his first season. But he’s tailed off stats-wise and the same report implies that he too could be on his way.

At just 24 years old we think Pastore would also be a fantastic signing for Manchester United with his technique, vision, goal-scoring ability and speed of passing. Let’s see him in action. Job done for Moyes!
