Manchester United: Team news and predicted XI vs Fulham

Vidic and Ferdinand still have more to offer than Jones and Evans

Manchester United fans will be saying it in hushed voices but there is a cautious sense that this team is about to turn a corner.

With Ferdinand and Vidic back in the defence in midweek, Manchester United looked more composed than in the recent games, when Jones and Evans have played. Curiously, Phil Jones also had his best game for Manchester United, as a central midfielder. Perhaps he’s not a centre back after all.

To be fair Jonny Evans has been ok but, if I were Mr.Moyes, I would be doing everything possible to get another season out of the old guard. They may get exposed for pace from time to time but they offer class and calm assurance which filters through to whole team.

And then there is the amazing Adnan Januzaj who seems to get better every week. He is having an incredible impact on games and he is surely undroppable already.

From the moment he came onto the park last weekend against Stoke the quality of the overall play for Manchester United improved immeasurably. Where more experienced players have been squandering possession for Manchester United this season this kid never gives the ball away. He really is a true joy to watch and we await his next appearance with great excitement.

We genuinely hope he plays and also hope that Shinji Kagawa is given another run out. We believe that he should be used in central midfield and hope that he gets the nod ahead of Marouane Fellaini.

So perhaps this week we’re giving you the 11 that we want to start rather than the 11 that we think will start the game. If Moyes picks the right team Fulham are surely there for the taking. But he needs creativity in the centre of midfield otherwise United could stumble yet again. And with only Welbeck a doubt the Manchester United boss has an excellent squad to pick from.

Here’s our XI. Enjoy the game.

Manchester United – De Gea, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Kagawa, Januzaj, Rooney, RvP
