Tottenham man SPOT ON with scathing remarks about the club

Bad moves

Tottenham star Justin Edeinbrugh is spot-on when he says that many of Tottneham’s current problems stem from the departure of Harry Redknapp.

The veteran English manager left the club after failing to qualify for The Champions League amidst claims that his head had been turned regarding the vacant England managers position at the time.

Edinburgh says that Tottenham have suffered since he left. He told talksport:

“Tottenham always seem to press the self destruct button,” he told Extra Time. “Why on earth did Tottenham get rid of Harry [Redknapp]?

“We had the best squad I’d seen at Tottenham for 20-odd years. Everyone was playing for him, we were producing some good results and we got into the Champions League. They started searching for things they didn’t need to.”

We couldn’t agree more. We were totally against the idea of appointing Andre Villas Boas as Tottenham manager in the first place. He took away Chelsea’s charisma and made Tottenham a more confused and clunky looking side. Had it not been for Gareth Bale he would have been found out long before he was.

Tim Sherwood has overseen some decent results since he took over but this Tottenham side still lacks identity.

Harry Redknapp may not look like the most sophisticated and forward thinking manager like a lot of the youngsters out there.

But he has a football vision and knows how he wants a game to be played. When he managed Tottenham they had great shape and played entertaining football. He kept it beautifully simple.

It is of course water under the bridge now but the most important thing is that the Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy learns from any mistakes moving forward. Getting the right manager is the most important aspect of any football club.

Tottenham fans would you prefer to stick or twist in terms of the boss this summer?

Well you seem to forget that Redknapp completely threw in the towel, when he was prematurely appointed England manager by the press.

Almost overnight the team went from being a well managed football machine to a giant headless chicken, throwing away match after match untill Redknapp had finally squandered a 10 point lead over our bitter rivals. The end result; no Champions League and the departure of the most brilliant midfielder since Hoddle.

Redknapp wasn’t loyal and Spurs suffered greatly. That’s why he got sacked.

Absolute bullshit. Harry Redknapp had Tottenham ten points clear of Arsenal and started trying to manipulate things. He didn’t give a f*ck about Spurs and hired agent Paul Stretford (spelling) to pressurise Levy when he became aware that the England job wasn’t his. He lied several times, like when he didn’t sign the three year contract put in front of him by Levy after the court case, he said that the players didn’t care less who was the manager as they would carry on regardless. But when he wanted a contract (after loosing out on the England job), suddenly the players might get itchy feet if the manager’s contract was running out and they feel vulnerable. He had been backed all the way through his court case by Dan Levy and suddenly he wasn’t interested in extending his contract (and the speculation was rife about England). The thing is that Tottenham’s results went bad and they were caught on the line by Arsenal when it would have been the honest thing to do was NOT take your eye off the ball. But Harry did and then he tried to put a gun to Levy’s head, but Levy won’t accept that kind of behaviour from HR or anyone else. His job at Spurs had become untenable thanks to the media and his own actions. Justin Edinburgh is too thick to see that and ‘Talk Shite’ will always bring in the ‘thickoo’s for a controversial view. The likes of you just copy and paste.

I thought he was offered the Chelsea job but they won the EC so that went up the pictures so he got sacked by Tottenham, but AVB was a crazy appointment
and TS not the best decision the board has made will be a good manager but he is learning as he goes and we haven’t got the time, the team has underperformed under him and he must take the responsibility the buck stops with him.end off.

Did Redknapp do any coaching? No. Tactically aware? No. Get on Pav and run around.
Who did he personally sign? Gallas, Nelson, Saha. Had’nt ever heard of Sandro before he signed.
He inherited a good squad and over achieved with the talents he had and his media pals backing.

Fornenced, you talk rubbish. Rednapp put together the best Spurs side in a generation and so called Spurs fans like you hounded him out. No doubt you are moaning about Sherwood now as well. Sit down shut up and give a Spurs manager support. Or are you really Arse!

Unlike our friend above I agree with you and Justin.avb was the most stupid thing Levy’s ever done, theres another round the corner right now Im sure.Stick with Tim he’s doing a good job and will get better. His little rants seem to have got home and we are beginning to play like a team.We might only have beaten Sunderland,5-1 I believe, but Chelsea have just lost to teams nearer the bottom than top, look on the bright side theres still a chance of something.COYS

Absolutely spot on 10 points clear of the Arsenal sitting in 3rd place and getting caught by the scum was diabolical management, whilst he’s defending tax evasion , we’re playing for CL place, and on top of this catches wind of the England job, absolutely cock sure it was his , so sod spurs, and when he don’t get it, him and his baby boy, whine to Sky sports how bad WE all are by going in another direction, let’s get a proper tactician in to manage this lot, they are decent players, just need a system to play with, 4-4-2 at home to the bottom 14 teams and play with a DM where necessary, it’s simple really. Haha

Fornenced, you clearly seem to very informed on the goings on. How do you now what Redknapp did or didnt do regarding his agent. Your post is borderline vitriolic and downright biased. Instead of all the assumptions/guesswork and rumours that you have provided I will provide some facts. 8th, 4th, 5th, 4th Champions League QF, Carling Cup Final, FA Cup Semi. Thats Harrys record with us. Make of that what you will. We did some play some great football thats not bullshit, inter 3-1 at home milan 1-0 away arsenal 3-2 away, wigan 9-0, i could go on. The team was in good shape and we did have balance. We played to win and we tried to entertain and score goals. Regardless what you say I enjoyed watching Spurs under Harry and I haven’t since he left. Thats not bullshit, thats my opinion. AVB – the football was shite, sterile, dull and the squad itself looks unbalanced and lacking creativty.

Just how many mistakes does Levy need to “learm from”. I’m sick of him constantly pulling us back from the brink of something special. Sorry, great businesman, but awful Football Chairman. Time for a change in the right area of the club now.

it seems like the same things are happening at Rangers too, come February this fella seems to float off into a world of his own and the results go down the pan. We did at times play good football under Redknapp but to blow the lead we had over woolwich that season in such a cavalier fashion, all because as he admits himself he wanted the England job was a disgrace. In football he knows better than anyone that nothing is cut and dried till you sign the contract,he took his eye off the ball,so his attitude was sod the club and the fans, and the way the tried to get more money from Levy after being roasted for the England job was unforgivable.
The same is happening at Rangers too, maybe he has heard the Haiti national job has become available.
