He’s never been too far away from controversy at Manchester United and fans of the club will hope that his latest comments have either lost something in translation, or are just wildly imprecise.
We all know that Sir Alex Ferguson has transformed Manchester Untied beyond recognition in the last 25 years plus. But one would hope that the legacy he is putting in place is equally as robust.
But Anderson reckons that Fergie’s departure will effectively return Manchester United to mid table mediocrity.
‘Manchester United is Alex Ferguson. When he leaves, the club will lose 30 to 40 per cent. So much depends on him.
“He’s a father to all the players, a very respected person and when he retires, the football world will really feel his loss.’
Calm down Anderson. Get on that treadmill lad and this could well be your season.
