Patrice Evra is mainly known for his antics on Instagram these days, but he’s still fondly remembered at Manchester United.
When he’s not uploading videos of his singing to social media, the Frenchman is still playing for Juventus and looks set to help the Old Lady to their sixth successive Scudetto this season.
Juve are four points clear at the top of Serie A, but Evra, now 35, has struggled to keep his place in the starting XI.
That has prompted the Manchester Evening News to suggest he could make a sensational return to Old Trafford, as Jose Mourinho is still unsure over his best left-back.
Luke Shaw has struggled ever since his return from that nasty leg break in 2015, while Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian, and Daley Blind have all been filling in.
The rumours have now been fuelled by Evra’s former team-mate, Rio Ferdinand, who brought up the speculation on Instagram with this post:
Old Trafford still bears a banner with Evra’s number 3 on it, so he’d be guaranteed a welcome return if a surprise deal did happen.
Mourinho should probably be thinking more long-term, though, even if bringing back the former hero would be the easy option.
