Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Manchester United at the start of the summer left the futures of many players up in the air.
One area which has become particularly congested is the midfield and that had led to speculation that several of the club’s one-time stars would be offloaded.
However, one such player who won’t be leaving Old Trafford is Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Sun report that Tottenham made a Deadline Day bid for the Frenchman, but Mourinho personally blocked it because he is still in his plans.
Paul Pogba and strangely enough, Marouane Fellaini, have been occupying the centre of the park in the opening few games of the season, which hasn’t left much of a role for Schneiderlin.
The 26-year-old has now therefore been promised that he will get more game time as the season goes on, with United in four competitions.
If Mourinho doesn’t keep his promise, there’s every possibility Mauricio Pochettino will come knocking again in January.
