Lucas Alario’s agent has confirmed the striker is keen on a move to Europe, reports the Evening Standard.
The River Plate striker is being monitored by Tottenham and Genoa, with the Italian side already having made an offer to the Argentinian club.
The 23-year-old has 10 goals in his first 19 appearances at senior level, so Spurs will be hoping manager and Alario’s compatriot Mauricio Pochettino can convince him to join.
The Lilywhites are set to wrap up a deal for Vincent Janssen within days too, so it is a positive sign that even when they have found one striker, they are still looking around in the market.
Alario has a release clause in his River Plate contract, believed to be in the region of £11million.
With Janssen costing around £16million, Spurs have certainly been shrewd operations in the transfer window, refusing to be drawn into bidding wars for Michy Batshuayi and Alexandre Lacazette.
Pochettino is clearly favouring buying in young players whom he can develop and as he proved last year, it’s a system that clearly seems to work at Spurs.
