Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuan has told Chelsea he would move only if he’s made the main striker for the club next season.
The Argentina international, who has been on a free scoring form since his arrival at the Italian top flight from Real Madrid in 2013, has scored 32 goals this season in the Serie A.
Higuan is determined to unseat Diego Costa as the Blues first choice forward, who himself has been subject to interest from the Chinese Super League and former club Atletico Madrid.
The £42-million price tag on his head would have to be met by the Blues if they want to secure the services of their target this summer but sources close to Higuan say the forward wants first team football before he agrees to move to England’s capital.
