While most of The Premier League sides are on the roster tonight, Chelsea will have to wait until Wednesday to see their new signings in the flesh and possibly in action.
The desire of the fan is always to see new players starting games.
But, in all likelihood, Alexandre Pato will have to make do with a place on the bench after what must have been an emotional week.
As for Matt Miazga, well he looks like a more long-term investment. Chelsea aren’t struggling in defence and only have injury concerns over Loic Remy, Radamel Falcao and Willian for the game against Watford.
Remy and Willian could both make the squad but perhaps Chelsea will start with the fully fit Pedro and Hazard on the wings for this one.
So Chelsea have made their January spend and now they have to go full tilt in their quest to climb the league and attempt another mission impossible in Europe à la 2012.
The Blues have a great squad so they must fancy their chances of a far better second half of the season.
It should be an interesting run-in for Guus Hiddink’s side.
So here is how we think they will line up.
