Big month

It’s been a busy window of transfer rumours for Chelsea who seem to have got a couple of deals over the line, or near to completion, so far in January.

With Alex Pato officially completing his loan move to Chelsea on Friday, Matt Miazga also seems to be close to concluding a deal with ESPN quoting head coach Guus Hiddink as saying:

“We don’t rush him but he will be one of the squad members for the future,” Hiddink said of Miazga. “He’s a young guy stepping up to the national team and it’s always good to have such players here so you can see what they are capable of in training.

“He’s a young player, a promising player — let’s see if he can get himself to the high demands of this club and the Premier League.”

But other striker rumours persist with The Daily Star writing that Chelsea have agreed a fee for another forward:

Bid accepted: Chelsea set to sell star to Leicester after striker fee agreed

LOIC REMY is set to sign for Leicester after Chelsea accepted a bid from the Premier League leaders.

The fee is reported to be £11.5m which would represent decent business for both sides.

Leicester are desperate for more firepower to strengthen their unlikely tilt at the the title.

And despite not featuring much for Chelsea this season (15 appearances and three goals) the Frenchman has great qualities for The Premier League and should be in his prime.

In other news The Sun reports that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone wants to swap the seemingly unsettled Diego Costa with their misfiring striker Jackson Martinez:

Atletico Madrid offer Blues Jackson Martinez in desperate attempt to land Diego Costa

Martinez only signed for Atletico in the summer from Porto but has failed to replicate his form from Portugal so far and Simeone may look to cut his losses quickly.

After getting such a rough ride this season we can easily see Costa leaving Chelsea in the summer. But whether Martinez is the answer for the Blues remains to be seen.

Let’s the Martinez in action.

Chelsea fans: can he lead the line as well as Costa did?
