Chelsea look as if they may conclude several pieces of business in this transfer window as they attempt to make their way up the league in the final throes of the campaign.
But the two most likely deals, as far as we can see right now, are for Alex Pato and Matt Miazga.
Pato has already spoken about his move to Chelsea and even though it’s not yet official, he is surely on his way to Stamford Bridge now.
As for Miazga, reports this week have stated that a deal is over the line with The Daily Mail reporting:
Chelsea secure £3.5m deal to sign New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga
Just 20 years of age the MLS star made his debut for USA this year and looks like a great athlete who is eager to learn.
If he stays at Chelsea, instead of being loaned out, he will get minutes this season. But we can’t see him getting straight into the side, despite some questionable form from the Chelsea defence this term.
Guus Hiddink will go with what he has already got at the back for now.
As for Pato, we know that he can play up top or in the hole. He’s not a prolific goalscorer and we believe that Costa will remain the first choice number 9 this season.
So when Pato is assimilated into Chelsea he will get a chance to stake his claim to the number 10 position behind the Spaniard.
No one player has really grasped the nettle with the number 10 this season and Pato could be the perfect man for the job.
With all this in mind Pato goes into our starting XI for Chelsea but Miazga misses out for now.
Chelsea fans: is this now the strongest XI?

Comment: I do not subscribe to signing Plato because isn’t a prolific striker Chelsea needed now that they are trying to recuperate. Go for Vardy, Griesman, trexirea and a defender like stones for his silly error during Capital One Cup semi finals.
