Just as we were beginning to close the door on any transfer action for Manchester United this January, up pops a report from Sky Sports which states that the club could be up for doing a striker deal.
They say:
Leicester City are in talks with CSKA Moscow regarding striker Ahmed Musa, but they expect to face competition from other big clubs in Europe, including Manchester United, according to Sky Sources.
The diminutive 23-year-old, who stands at just 5ft 6in, has scored 10 goals in 29 games for CSKA this season.
He’s been at the Russian club for 5 years and scored at a similar ratio each year. He’s also played a notable 56 times at international level for a strong Nigeria side and scored 11 times. He went to The World Cup in Brazil with Nigeria having played in every qualifying game and is probably known best for two excellent finishes in what was one of our favourite games of the tournament – a 3-2 defeat against Argentina.
Manchester United are desperate for some more pace and invention up front.
Musa is an energetic and speedy character who can play on the wing or up front – as such he would seemingly fit quite well into Louis van Gaal’s system at Old Trafford – the Dutchman likes his players to be adaptable and able to fill in at various positions.
Let’s the interesting prospect in action.
Manchester United fans: is he good enough to make a difference to the first team straight away or are United barking up the wrong tree?
