Chelsea have been on the lookout for striker reinforcements this month and it looks as if the search may end with a successful conclusion as latest reports suggest that Brazilian forward Alex Pato has now finalised a short-term deal with the Stamford Bridge club.
Sources at Corinthians have revealed Alexandre Pato’s deal with Chelsea is now finalised.
The report states that the deal will be a six-month loan, with an option for a permanent deal in the summer.
There is no doubting the overall class of the Brazilian 26-year-old. He’s played for some great clubs and scored many goals.
But this has to be seen as a slightly risky move by Chelsea. The source even suggests that Hiddink himself ‘had reservations about signing Pato’.
In their current position Chelsea desperately need any new players coming in to the squad to hit the ground running.
But Pato has never played in England before and his style may not be suited to the hustle and bustle of The Premier Legaue.
Our money would have gone on pace. With Saido Berahino still at West Brom he would have been our pick for Chelsea.
But with a week still left in the window, perhaps The Blues still plan a move for the England man.
Let’s see Pato in action.
Chelsea fans: good move?
