One thing that Louis van Gaal has managed to do well in his tenure at Manchester United is to keep his transfer plans close to his chest.
Consequently, with less than two weeks to go in the January transfer window, we are no closer to knowing what business, if any, the club will oversee this month.
But one respected media outlet, who seems to have a very good relationship with those inside the great walls at The Theatre of Dreams, reckon they might have an idea.
The Manchester Evening News reports:
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, a target for Arsenal, is now thought to be firmly on United’s radar.
The report goes on to suggest that Manchester United are now favourites to sign him.
Rabiot is undoubtedly a talented midfielder but one who PSG just don’t seem able to satisfy. At just 20 years of age he has already played 19 times for PSG this season (2 goals) but is fighting a battle with Marco Veratti and Blaise Matuido for a starting berth in the engine room.
As you would imagine with a Frenchman playing for PSG, Rabiot has excellent technique and is a shoe-in for a future place in the full international squad, having played at every youth level for France.
soccersweep says: Manchester United need to look at their ageing midfield long-term and Rabiot is a decent prospect. But it’s difficult to see him making a big difference to the first team between now and the end of the season.
Let’s see him in a action.
