In a cauldron of transfer rumour it’s nice to get some solid soundbites from those who matter.
Manchester United’s interest in Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson has been well documented and their Sporting Director Igli Tare has told reporters that interest in the player from Old Trafford is solid:
“We turned down a 50m offer from Manchester United on Aug. 27 and nothing has changed since then, because if he finds consistency, then he’s worth much more.”
He also suggested that other bigger offers have come in, which would suyggets that the club is holding out for moe money from Manchester United:
“We also resisted bigger offers than that, but we have targets to achieve.”
The player does seem available at the right price and, having witnessed Manchester United’s atrocious display against 3rd tier opposition at Old Trafford on Saturday night in the FA Cup, how they could use the speed of Anderson from midfield and in attack.
You keep expecting Manchester United to turn a corner and put in a fantastic performance, but it just isn’t happening for them the season so they continue to sleep walk through campaign .
Let’s take a look at Anderson in action. Manchester United fans: is this the most obvious solution for a team which is playing sideways and so slow through the team right now?
