Arsenal will look far and wide for players who can bring them title success over the next few years and one rather surprising recent inclusion on the transfer radar is Watford striker Odion Ighalo.

That’s according to British media outlet, The Mirror, which states:

Arsene Wenger has put Watford striker Odion Ighalo on his transfer hit-list.

Watford have been one of several surprise packages this season. Many onlookers had predicted that they would struggle to consolidate their position in The Premier League with comparatively limited resources.

But, in a generally crazy season, they currently sit in 9th position in the table under the excellent guidance of Quique Sánchez Flores.

Orion Ighalo has formed a brilliant Premier League partnership with Troy Deeney this season at Watford and the 26 year old Nigerian, who has 7 caps and 2 goals for his country at international level, has scored 14 goals in just 20 outings for his club this season.

He has an excellent scoring record since he moved from Granada in La Liga two years ago with 34 in 58 games.

We have to say that we don’t immediately think of him as an Arsenal type. He’s energetic, powerful and quick, but he may lack the finesse to make the team on a regular basis at The Emirates.

Arsenal have enjoyed success this season with Olivier Giroud but there have been persistent calls for the club to invest in another striker, as quality, conventional understudies are thin on the ground at the club.

Let’s take a look at the player in action.

Arsenal fans: would he suit Arsene’s style of play?
