Tottenham have filled their side with exciting young talent over the last year but, if latest reports are to be believed, then they may be looking to add a touch of experience in the January window.
PSG’s expensive import Ezequiel Lavezzi is coming to the end of his contract will be a free agent by the summer. This has alerted clubs to his potential availability in January when his club could sell him for a cut-price fee rather than lose him for nothing.
Sky Sports pass son reports from France:
Tottenham are looking to seal a cut-price deal for PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Lavezzi has also been linked with Arsenal, but French outlet Telefoot report that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are the favourites to sign the former Napoli man this month.
The Argentine international, known as El Pocho in football circles, is not a prolific scorer but his game is multifaceted.
He is a wonderful technician in the same sort of mould as Teddy Sheringham. He makes things happen, rarely misplaces a pass, and is a model of composure on the ball and under pressure.
It could be a masterful signing for Tottenham and with PSG having to also please Zlatan and Edinson Cavani in the attacking berths there may well be an opportunity for Spurs to sign the Argentine this month.
Let’s take a look at the 30 year old in action.
Tottenham fans: Would this be the right direction for the club to take in the January window or would you sooner see more youngsters recruited?
