It’s really hotting up now with Mourinho to Manchester United as various broadsheets have now got involved with the story.
In a piece written in highly respected British media outlet, The Guardian, Daniel Taylor suggests that he has spoken to someone on the side at Old Trafford with regards these rumours. And he surmises that:
‘…the club are giving serious consideration to moving out the Dutchman after three damaging defeats in a row’
Mourinho has made it clear to United that he wants the job, despite having a close relationship with the man he might ultimately replace, but sources in Portugal say it has not reached the stage where he has been made a firm offer
With Louis van Gaal failing badly at Manchester United the pressure seems to be increasing by the day.
We think that the appointment of Mourinho should be made before any more damage is done in the league – Manchester United are now 9 points off the title pace, after leading the league just a few short weeks ago.
But, if Van Gaal does last until the next game, a defeat at Stoke on Boxing Day will surely seal his fate.
Van Gaal wil probably remain a popular figure in the memories of Manchester United fans for his full-hearted approach to management.
But it is now patently obvious that his methods are either outdated or ill-suited to The Premier League.
