Big Player

This one needs to be taken with a pinch of salt due to the sources – but hey, don’t shoot the messenger. Especially on a Saturday morning with so much footy to look forward to!

Back to business. Manchester United have been linked with a move for the supremely talented Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.

The Metro quotes reports in Spain which suggest that the 24 year old may gettable as he isn’t particularly satisfied with his role under new Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez. The seldom understated Metro reports that:

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is ready to offer James Rodriguez a transfer escape route out of Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

The Red Devils boss is a big admirer of the Colombian, who is known to be unhappy with life under Rafael Benitez at the moment.

Of course Louis is a fan. Rodriguez is a dream of a footballer who with the sort of flair that this Manchester United team is crying out for.

James started his Real Madrid career brilliantly and, even though he is struggling for game time at the moment, Manchester United will have it all to do to persuade the club to sell a player who will come into his prime in the next couple of years.

Usually from a position behind the striker, he’s scored 20 goals in 55 games for Real Madrid, since joining Los Blancos after the World Cup, but he has only turned out 9 times for the club this season.

In short this would be exactly the sort of signing to give Louis van Gaal some breathing space at the Manchester United helm.

Let’s see the maestro in action.

Manchester United fans: a no-brainer?
