We haven’t agreed with several of the big decisions that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has made over the last few weeks in particular.
While his hands have been tied to a degree by injuries – a fact that he hasn’t moaned about to the press – he did make some very strange selection decisions against Wolfsburg and at the weekend.
Ashley Young, for example, was among LvG’s favoured Manchester United players last season. But with injuries rife and experience required, the Dutchman didn’t even bring the lad off the bench in either game – all is not well there, you suspect.
But he was right when he scoffed at suggestions that The Europa League is not worth fighting for.
When asked about the importance of the competition, Louis responded angrily:
“Just? You think it’s just? I’m not thinking like that.
“I have already won the Europa League with Ajax in my first season, and I was very proud of that.
“For me, the Euro (Europa) League is a big competition.”
The way we see it is that The Europa league is a bigger competition than The FA Cup and many to most Manchester United fas would be very happy to win that.
So, with the big announcement expected today, as to who Manchester United will face in the knockout stage, we feel that the fans should get excited about the competition.
It means midweek football and it’s a chance to give a young squad more European experience.
The Europa League is not a loser’s cup, as many would opine. And any player who doesn’t want to win it doesn’t belong in the Manchester United squad.
Manchester United will discover their fate at 12pm GMT (13:00 CET) when the draw begins in Nyon.

if you are a real supporter, you support your club in good and bad times. LVG stated that it would take him 3 years to take MUFC to the top of the EPL ladder. We are 4th on the ladder. The Glasers are happy with his performance. He is only half way his contract. Confidence is the problem.Changing
managers does not fix anything. Being abusive does not fix anything either. One or two strikers in January and the problem is fixed. We are only 6 points from the top.
