Big Night

Strange times indeed for Manchester City.

For our money they are comfortably the best side in England on their day but their propensity for inexplicable implosions is greater than ever this season.

Had they drawn with Juventus in match day 5 of The Champions League group stages a home win in this final fixture would have guaranteed top spot in the group.

They can still top the group if other results go their way and, after recent Champions League debacles most Manchester City fans will simply be happy that their club is into the knockout phase.

But they will sure play their best available XI as Manuel Pellegrini looks to improve his current stock at the helm of Manchester City – a position which looks a little insecure right now.

Manuel Pellegrini said of his squad on Monday:

“The players missing today (from training) are Kompany, Demichelis, Nasri, Zabaleta and Fernando,” says the Blues boss.

and of Sergio Aguero:

“Sergio has an injury which means he can’t work. He needs time to recover – it’s not serious, it’s a pain injury,”

“We don’t have many players to rest tomorrow – maybe there will just be two or three changes.”

He also mentioned that Yaya Toure is fit.

With all this in mind, here is our strongest XI for a game which could kickstart City into a good run.

Manchester City fans: let’s have your elevens.
