Manchester City have held discussions with his representatives about bringing the best player in the world to the club – report

A few years ago this story would have seemed ridiculous.

But such is the renewed spending power of Manchester City you certainly wouldn’t put it past them now. The football world has gone mad and City are at the forefront of the spending.

So, The Sun gives every Manchester City fan the perfect end to the working week by suggesting that:

Lionel Messi in talks over £800k a week Manchester City move

The report states that Messi is open to a move to The Premier League and perhaps he would find it hard to refuse such vast wealth – that’s over 4 million Euros a month for the Argentine legend.

With talk of Manchester United attempting to re-sgn Cristiano Ronaldo The Premier League would once more have a genuine claim to be the best league in the world.

With De Bruyne, Aguero and Sterling alongside him, the rest may as well give up!

Messi has won everything at club level and has also taken every individual honour worth winning.

We always felt that noone would eclipse Diego Maradona as the best player of all time – until Messi came along.

Still only 28, he has the skill of his countryman but also the sort of temperament which is rare for one so gifted. With no major injuries suffered in his career we could expect him to play in to his mid-thirties.

Let’s see some of his best moments.

Manchester City fans: a realistic possibility?
