Chelsea are still licking their wounds after a shocking start to their defence of The Premier League and they’ve been linked to three January signings in the latest news cycle.
Jamie Vardy
The Mirror states that Chelsea will attempt to snare the success story of The Premier League season so far to add pace and grit to the front line.
Chelsea have Vardy – the Premier League’s leading scorer with 13 – among their strikers under consideration for a January move as they seek to solve their problems in front of goal, with Diego Costa having found the target just four times this season.
Vardy has recently equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League record of scoring in 10 consecutive games and could break the record this weekend in the match against Manchester United.
Moussa Dembele
It’s an interesting link and one which has surfaced several times since the summer. Dembele is in the form of his life at Spurs and the same source reckons a deal could be completed:
The Stamford Bridge boss believes £20m-rated Dembele would give his ailing champions a desperately-needed mid-season boost and believes the club should make an offer.
The report states that while the Belgian has been playing out of his skin this season, Spurs were prepared to let him go in the close season.
Nikola Kalinic
Italian media outlet Gazette Dello Sport reports that Chelsea have been monitoring Nikola Kalinic – a striker who has hit 10 goals in 9 Serie A matches for Fiorentina so far this season.
The 27 year old also has 26 caps for Croatia and scored 8 times for his country.
Let’s see him in action.
