ManUtd.com has reported this afternoon that Manchester United’s young striker James Wilson has joined Brighton on loan until the end of the season.
The 19 year old has made 20 appearances for Manchester United since his debut under Ryan Giggs at the end of David Moyes’s tenure.
But he’s only turned out twice for the the first team this season and he’s not central to Louis van Gaal’s current plans.
There was talk, over the summer, of a temporary move to various Premier League clubs but it never materialised and, despite the poor form of other strikers at the club, Wilson has been unable to force his way into the reckoning on a regular basis.
Niggling injuries have also hampered his season.
A move to Brighton, where Wilson will be fully expected to start games when fit, can only good for him.
Manchester United fans will hope that he returns to fulfil his potential rather than becoming one of the many promising youngsters who never quite made the grade. He’s got fantastic pace but needs to develop physically and add finesse to his game.
Let’s see some of his better moments for Manchester United.
