Not Ronaldo: Manchester United linked with move for another speed demon

Pace to burn

The Ronaldo news has represented a wonderful way for Manchester United fans to enjoy their Sunday morning toast soldiers. And with the win at the weekend which effectively sent them top (apologies to Leicester for the bigotry) things are looking rosy once more at Old Trafford.

But let’s speak realistically for a moment. Although Manchester United are probably in a financial position to buy Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid surely wouldn’t countenance his sale mid-season.

If this incredible move comes off then it will surely happen in the summer.

Meantime Manchester United will still look to add speed to their forward line.

To that end, a new name has been thrown into the hat this weekend.

The Sun says:

Berahino, 22, is on United’s hitlist, with the forward still tipped to leave The Hawthorns after a row following his collapsed move to Tottenham.

Many of us remember the very public spat that he had with his employers when the move to Sprs didn’t come off in the summer.

That may lead to questions about his temperament.

But his talent certainly isn’t in doubt. We have been hugely impressed by the England U21 man. He has the obvious pace to burn but also has much more finesse than we had given him credit for.

The 22 year old has lovely technique and is also a ruthless finisher.

Is he good enough to improve Manchester United. Yes, we think he is.

Let’s take a look at Berahino in action.

Manchester United fans: Is he a player who can walk straight into the team?

No not Berahino. United should first find replacements for Shaw, Valencia, Carrick and Fellani. I say R. Rodriguez, Carvajal, Jorginho and Pogba or Kondogbia. We need trickery and speed on the wings, so Bale, El Gazi, or Lucas Moura
