This may sound craaaaazy. But Tottenham are now our dark horses for the title.
Dark horses usually don’t actually win but there is a purpose and collectiveness about Tottenham right now that is impossible to ignore. And we haven’t seen them look as convincing since ‘Arry was at the ‘elm.
No only has Mauricio Pochettino made this Tottenham side more hard-working and confident. But he has also bought brilliantly so far and long may it continue.
But today Tottenham have been linked with a player who, although highly skilled, may struggle to adapt to The Premier League. The Daily Star says:
SPURS will move for Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato if they lose out to Chelsea in the race to sign West Brom striker Saido Berahino.
Incredibly he is still only 26. And he won The World Cup with Brazil way back in 2006.
We don’t doubt his ability – this is a man with a great football brain.
But is he rugged enough for the rough and tumble of The Premier League in the middle of winter or would he shrivel up and disappear into the long shadows?
The best case scenario is that he turns out to be a little like Teddy Sheringham whose lack of pace and aggression was never an issue because his football brain was second to none.
It would certainly be an interesting signing for Tottenham and their hugely impressive boss.
Let’s see him in action.
