Good news for Manchester United in a marketing sense at least today.
Their latest figures reveal that the they could become the first club to make over £500m revenue in one year as their 1st quarter results show a big increase in turnover. The MEN says:
United recorded record first quarter revenues of £123.6m, which represented an increase of 39.3 percent.
The strong showing represents increased money from TV, after Manchester United qualified for The Champions League, and the benefit of that huge kit deal signed with Adidas.
Wouldn’t it be nice if it could all be reinvested back into the club instead of paying off the ludicrous amounts of interest generated by The Glazer family takeover?
In other news Manchester United’s summer signing Memphis Depay will be pleased to hear that he has been outselling Neymar in the kit sales department.
According to the same source:
Manchester United have demonstrated the power of their global appeal after Memphis Depay and Bastian Schweinsteiger moved into the top five highest shirt sellers in world football.
Only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are above the United pair who completed moves to Old Trafford in the summer.
Memphis has suffered a few teething problems since joining the club but that doesn’t seem to have dampened his popularity amongst United fans:
And we think that their money is safe as this guy is going to become one of the best.
Let’s see some Memphis magic.
