Chelsea are having a bit of a shocker but there will surely be mixed reactions to the latest transfer rumour that the Chelsea players want Didier Drogba to return to the club.

We aren’t sure if it’s a desperate story or a desperate measure on the part of Chelsea.

Drogba played with absolute distinction for Chelsea from 2004-2012 scoring 157 goals and winning the lot at club level.

He returned last season and hit 7 goals in 40 games – not prolific but still not bad for a then 36 year old.

And DD’s Chelsea love affair may have one final chapter if the rumours have any substance.

We have to say that, while the brilliant Ivorian would clearly lift the spirits, in the same way as Thierry Henry does every time he gets anywhere near Arsenal, he is surely too old to have a major impact on the field.

That said, the other front line strikers are playing so averagely at the moment that perhaps he may not be such a bad option.

Let’s see the big man in action for Chelsea.

Blues fans: any real benefit in this one coming off?
